In 2021 Carl transitioned into a role focusing on hardening all aspects of digital security at Garver.

After being promoted to the Networking and Infrastructure team Carl focused on security, performance, and monitoring improvements.

In this role Carl administered Office 365, ShoreTel, and Active Directory environments as well as industry specific applications from Bentley, Autodesk, and other vendors. Additionally Carl worked with the Networking and Infrastructure team to help document and improve server and network performance.

This position covered a large range of tasks. Carl helped manage Active Directory, SolarWinds monitoring, VMware provisioning, and created/maintained SOP documentation. In addition he setup a RADIUS VM for AD authentication to Cisco switches, and supported industry specific applications.

Carl managed setup, support, and teardown of proprietary hardware, software, and apps as well as wired and wireless networking. The remote events included file transfers, video playback, and/or live streaming which were all vital components of the events. Any troubleshooting with the network or systems needed to be solved quickly, without disrupting high profile staff.
